OAK PORCELLI: C.E.O Lightwave Entertainment Inc.

Oak started in the film business after finishing college in Vermont, by helping a life long friend make a group of extreme snowboarding videos while partnered with the biggest companies in the industry, Burton, K2, TB Films, and ESPN’S X-Games. The power of the videos’ imagery compelled Mountain Dew and Powerade to provide corporate sponsorship at unprecedented levels for two new filmmakers. Oak returned to New York to use his love of film to nurture his new love of film making. Oak did just what he set out to do. Living in New York for eight years, he worked on every project he could find. Learning everything anyone could teach him about the passion that drove both him and the industry he loves. Oak adopted the attitude, “What can I learn from this film project?” On films with scores of budgets from $100,000.00 to $100,000,00.00, Oak learned his craft. While working as the producer for the award winning short film, “Pet Story,” to assistant director positions on the blockbuster hits “The Day After Tomorrow,” “Spiderman,” and “Spiderman II,” all the way to director’s assistant on “Basic,” and “Rollerball.” He continued to learn and master the entire filmmaking process. After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, Oak moved to Louisiana to support a fellow film visionary rebuild the shattered film industry of New Orleans and has been a constant source of knowledge, support, and experience to new filmmakers and established veterans returning to both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge film communities. A Los Angeles film production company recruited Oak to be its Vice President of production and development for the company’s Louisiana Media Production. His responsibilities were to develop budgets and schedule prospective projects with producers and production companies, while also overseeing their in house productions. Major projects that benefited with Oak as the producer include the 20th. Century Fox picture, “Jumper” and Spike Lee’s joint with Touchtone Pictures, “Miracle at St. Anna.”
